SEngine Precision Medicine
SEngine developed a functional precision-oncology platform intended to move from assay development into a CLIA-certified clinical diagnostic service.
- Challenge
- A functional drug-screening platform needed to become a regulated clinical product supported by automation, quality systems, physician-facing interpretation, and adoption in real-world care.
- Strategic Premise
- Functional testing could complement molecular diagnostics by helping physicians interpret drug response in the context of disease, genomic findings, treatment history, pathology, and the clinical question.
- Michael's Role
- Lead Scientist, then Principal Scientist. Michael built the CLIA-certified P.A.R.I.S. test and later supported its physician-facing clinical implementation and broader company development.
- Technology and Execution Context
- Functional precision oncology, clinical diagnostics, automation, quality systems, physician decision support, and commercialization.
- Outcome
- Michael developed personalized drug panels for more than 100 cancer patients and supported an approximately $9 million financing through financial analysis, valuation work, diligence materials, and company presentations. The CEO led the financing.
